The ninth annual State of Wellington breakfast, sponsored by the Wellington Kiwanis Club, drew a record attendance of 145. Among those in attendance were state elected officials, an aide to Congressman Bob Latta's office, several county officials, including county commissioners and the Lorain County Sheriff. Lorain County Auditor Craig Snodgrass and his office team gave a $300 donation to our playground fund from their employee "dress-down" collection. Wellington Schools Superintendent Dr. Andy Peltz gave an informational and motivating presentation regarding school facilities. Treasurer Pete Bailey provided a financial overview given impending reductions in tax income. Mayor Hans Schneider and Village Manager Jonathan Greever outlined infrastructure improvements and plans in the water and wastewater departments and a review of employee wage schedules to attract and retain employees.
