Thursday, September 18, hear from Good Knights of Lorain County and their mission to provide beds for Lorain County children.

Today, Thursday, Sept. 11, is Patriot Day. We honor and remember the nearly 3,000 victims from that horrific day 24 years ago when the United States was attacked. Our featured Patriot Day sponsors are two well-established, Wellington-based business -- McLoughlin Carpet Cleaning and U.S. Screen, whose flag displays are located at the at the Village Town Hall and Union School Park, respectively. We also recognize American Legion Post 8 at the Vietnam Memorial, VFW Post 6941 at Duke Pride Hill at Barb O’Keefe Way (North Main St. underpass) and Wellington Masonic Lodge #127 at Pioneer Cemetery on W. Herrick Ave. We have 276 flags flying throughout town as part of Kiwanis’ Parade of Flags. All proceeds are earmarked for playground equipment. To date, more than $85,000 has been saved by Kiwanis for this village project. ... See MoreSee Less
