On September 22, every third-grade student in the Wellington school district received a dictionary compliments of Wellington Kiwanis. This student dictionary includes over 150 pages of supplemental information in the back, including the Constitution of the U.S., the Declaration of Independence, brief biographies of all of the U.S. presidents, world maps, and information about all 50 states, countries of the world and planets in our solar system. sign language, braille and the longest word in the English language.
Third grade teachers were gifted with a Word Teasers game as a tool for their students to improve their skills in using the dictionary.
Join us for our Third Thursday evening speaker, Tracy Strait with Strait Karate.
Tracy also has been the advisor for one of our Student Leadership Programs (SLPs) Builders Club at McCormick Middle School for four years. Her co-advisor (and karate student) is our very own Ashley Deaton, pictured far right below.
