The Wellington Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of Wellington teamed up Thursday night to host Candidates' Night at the Town Hall. An audience of about 50 people were in attendance. The five candidates for Village Council (Steve Boham, Bill Bogan, Gary Feron, Gene Hartman and Keith Rowland), and five of the six candidates for the Wellington Board of Education (Mike Davidson, Jennifer Kazmierzak, Phil Mohrman, Brett Murner and Ayers Ratliff) addressed the group, speaking for about five minutes each. School board incumbent Penny McClaflin was unable to attend due to work commitments. Also presenting were new Wellington Township Trustee Dave Fisher and and Herrick Memorial Library Director Janet Hollingsworth, who spoke on the library's renewal levy. The presentation was recorded by GLW-Broadband TV-12 and will air at 5 p.m. Oct. 22, 23 and 24. Candidates have also been invited to speak at Mayor Hans Schneider's coffee hour at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at the Wellington Fire District community room.
